Pre-Surgical Instructions

1 Day Before Surgery:

Take antibiotic morning and bedtime

Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water during the day.

Eat a light dinner nothing greasy or spicy

Stop eating and drinking at midnight.

Hold all GLP-1 dieting pills or injections 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery.

Day of Surgery

DO NOT TAKE THE ANTIBIOTIC.

  • Shower with Hibiclens
  • *Have compression socks ON
  • *Bring the Scop Patch

Wear a top that BUTTONS or ZIPS, comfortable pants, and slip-on shoes

DO NOT WEAR ANY JEWELRY.

After Surgery

Constipation is a common problem after surgery, please follow these instructions:

Increase the intake of water to at least 8 glasses per day.

Try to walk as much as possible in the house.

Take full deep breaths

Take 4 tablespoons of Milk of Magnesia or stool softener if needed (colace/ducolax)

Do NOT drink red wine and avoid aspirin products/NSAIDs 2 weeks and 2 weeks after until cleared by surgeon
