How It’s Done
Lip augmentation can be performed through various techniques, each tailored to meet the patient’s specific needs and desires. The two primary methods are:
Non-Surgical Lip Augmentation: This approach involves the use of dermal fillers, such as hyaluronic acid-based products, to add volume and shape to the lips. The procedure is minimally invasive and typically performed in a clinical setting. The filler is carefully injected into precise areas of the lips to achieve the desired fullness and contour. The results are immediate, and there is minimal downtime.
Surgical Lip Augmentation: Surgical lip augmentation involves making small incisions at the corners of the mouth or along the vermillion border (the edge of the lips). Through these incisions, the surgeon can modify the lip structure by either advancing or altering the position of the lip tissue. This surgical technique is more invasive and typically requires local or general anesthesia. Recovery may take longer compared to non-surgical options.
Who is a Good Candidate?
Lip augmentation is suitable for individuals who:
- Desire fuller, more defined lips.
- Have naturally thin or asymmetrical lips.
- Want to enhance their lip contour and overall facial appearance.
- Are in good health with no underlying medical conditions that could affect healing.
